3D content will only work when all devices are compatible and compliant with the technology.  This includes interconnecting cabling (HDMI v1.4).  There are also environmental factors which can affect your 3D viewing experience, including TV placement, the type of lighting in the room can affect the picture, especially fluorescent lighting as it flickers at its own rate which conflicts with the flicker rate of the glasses.
